The definition of gratitude is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
So with that being said I want to chat to you about gratitude and the benefits of practicing gratitude.
People who regularly practice gratitude by taking some time for themselves each day, some like to do this as soon as they wake up and have their cup of coffee.
They take time to notice and reflect upon the things they’re thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems
I know some people who keep a gratitude diary and write what they are grateful for each and every day.
When thinking of being grateful, you can think big or small. Example, I am grateful I have a job and a loving family, or on a small scale, I am grateful the sun is shining today.
While you might always be thankful for your great family, just writing “I’m grateful for my family” week after week doesn’t keep your brain on alert for fresh grateful moments
The best way to reap the benefits of gratitude is to notice new things you’re grateful for every day.
For example, my partner cooked my favourite dinner, which I was thankful for.
Get social with your gratitude. While you might not want to post it all over social media each day, maybe a letter here or there to a friend on that you are thankful for might encourage them to start practicing gratitude. It may give them a more positive outlook.
I would love to hear what you are grateful for next time you are in and I will let you know what I am grateful for that day as well. We can share it and lets see our minds change and progress together.
