As chiropractors we are commonly asked what is the difference between us and physiotherapists?
There is a massive difference between chiropractors and physiotherapists. While this statement surprises many, we focus on separate systems of the body and our treatment of such systems differ drastically.
A chiropractor targets the nervous system. They place a great deal of importance on the proper function of this system, and rightly so as every cell in your body communicates through this system. The nervous system can be treated through a variety of different chiropractic techniques and here at Robina Chiropractic Wellness Centre, we utilise Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP). It is not only the most researched chiropractic technique, it is extremely effective at treating a variety of acute and chronic conditions which individuals may be suffering. In comparison a physiotherapist focuses on individuals who are affected by injury or disability. Their treatment involves a variety of methods focused on movement and exercise. They play a big role in the management of sport injuries.
It is a common misconception that you either see a chiropractor or a physiotherapist. From the information above you can understand how this is actually a myth. We commonly recommend patients to see their physiotherapists for a variety of conditions and potentially have them assist on the current management of their condition.
